Prop Nut

Prop Nut is a cast or drop-forged nut with a welded 12 mm handle that threads onto the outer threaded tube of an adjustable steel prop. The G pin rests on it, and turning it gives the fine height adjustment. As you turn the nut on its 4 TPI thread, the inner tube rises or falls by small increments, allowing you to dial in the exact height needed under the formwork or shoring load. Specify the size (#0–#4) and the quantity you need.

Design and handle

Cast or drop-forged nut with 12 mm welded handle

The solid nut body threads onto the outer tube and the welded handle provides leverage for turning. The handle makes it easy to grip and adjust the nut by hand on site without tools.

The nut is machined to 4 TPI (threads per inch) and runs on the threaded outer tube in sizes 0–4.

How it works

Thread and handle turn the inner tube up and down

The outer tube is fixed and the prop nut threads onto it. As you turn the handle, the nut advances or retracts along the 4 TPI thread, raising or lowering the inner tube in its bore. The G pin rests on top of the nut, so each turn of the nut moves the support height by a small amount, giving you precise control over the prop length without having to reposition the pin.

Set the coarse height with the G pin, then use the prop nut to fine-adjust the deck level across the falsework. The threaded adjustment lets you achieve the exact finished-slab height.

Beam and slab formwork under load

Dial the prop nut to bring the formwork gradually up to the underside of the beam or slab. The handle gives you leverage and control as you take up the load.
