Plumbing, heating and cooling

Process and stainless piping

Roof drainage

HANGERS
Rod-hung pipe support
A threaded rod drops from an anchor or beam clamp to a two-piece clamp around the pipe, and the nut on the rod sets the pipe to level.

Loose-flange stainless joint
A stainless collar welded to each pipe end is clamped between a pair of loose backing flanges, which turn freely to line up the bolt holes.
ROOF DRAINS
Roof drain in a metal deck
A sump receiver closes the hole cut in the deck and carries the drain body, so the roof falls to the drain and water leaves the roof at its lowest point.

What pipe sizes do the clamps cover?
GV sources pipe clamps for 1/2 to 30 in (15 to 750 mm) pipe, in 3 to 20 mm strip thickness. Standard clamps feature a welded M8 / M10 boss for the hanger rod and come unlined or with EPDM rubber lining to dampen vibration.
Which threaded rod standards are available?
Threaded rod supplied in 1/4 to 2-1/2 in and M6 to M60, in UNC, BSW or metric pitch per DIN 975 and DIN 976. Your specification determines the grade: ASTM A307 carbon steel, class 4.8 and 8.8 metric, ASTM A193 B7, or stainless steel.
What is a stainless steel collar for a flange?
It is a formed stainless ring, also called a stub end, that is welded to the pipe end. A loose backing flange slides over it and clamps the joint, keeping the flange clear of the fluid and allowing it to turn freely to align bolt holes. GV supplies them in 304, 304L, 316 and 316L for 1/2 to 24 in pipe.
What does a sump receiver do?
A sump receiver is a steel plate with a raised round collar that fits into the opening cut in a metal roof deck. It carries the roof drain body and forms the sump for water drainage. GV supplies them in zinc-plated or powder-coated finish, sized to match the drain opening.
What finishes are available?
Pipe clamps and threaded rod come in plain, zinc-plated or hot-dip galvanized finish. Stainless collars are unfinished stainless steel. Sump receivers are available zinc-plated or powder-coated.
