L-bend rod in frame guides
The rod slides vertically within pressed-steel guides mounted to one leaf of the double gate. When the gate closes, the rod drops into a ground-mounted center stop, locking the leaf in position.

Drop rod locks the gate leaf against the ground
Guides on the frame of the fixed leaf hold the rod upright. Close the leaf, lower the rod into the ground stop, and the leaf is pinned while the other leaf opens and closes against it.
