Fencing Components
Barbed Wire Arm is a pressed-steel arm that fits over the top of a chain-link or mesh fence post and carries three or six strands of barbed wire above the fence. On line posts the top rail passes through the arm. Specify the post size, arm type (45°, vertical or V), finish and the quantity you need.
At a glance
The 45° arm angles the wire outward, the vertical arm holds it straight up, and the V arm carries strands both ways from one post. Each arm is chosen to suit the security the site needs above the mesh.
Arms are sized to the post they sit on, so the collar fits the pipe of the existing framework. Arms for round and rectangular posts are available or made to your order.
3-strand 45° arm, 3-strand vertical arm or 6-strand V arm, in 14 G steel for 1-5/8, 1-7/8, 2, 2-3/8 and 2-1/2 in posts. Flat barbed wire stays 710 x 30 x 6 mm for angle posts. Hot dip galvanized, or polymer coated black or green.

The arm's collar fits over the post top, and on line posts the top rail passes through its opening. Barbed wire runs through the notches on each arm and is tensioned between the terminal posts, then tied at every arm, so the strands sit above the mesh along the whole run.
Common applications
Add barbed wire above chain-link at sites where climbing is the main risk, such as utility substations, secure storage compounds and depots.
Fit barbed wire stays to angle posts on chain-link systems, or arms made for round and rectangular posts on mesh fencing.
Install arms on fence posts already in place to strengthen perimeter security after a site assessment. The arm fits over the existing post top without demolition or new post installation.
