Pipe Clamps
Pipe Clamps are two-piece steel clamps that close around a pipe with two screws, with a welded threaded boss that takes the hanger rod. They support heating, plumbing, sprinkler and process pipework, unlined or with an EPDM rubber lining. Specify pipe size, lining, boss thread, finish and the quantity you need.

Unlined or rubber lined
The EPDM lining cushions the pipe, reduces noise carried along the pipework and protects the pipe surface; unlined clamps suit steel pipe and hot service where the design calls for them.
1/2 to 30 in pipe, M8 / M10 boss
For 1/2–30 in (15–750 mm) pipe, 0.120–0.790 in (3–20 mm) steel, combination M8 / M10 boss or 3/8 and 1/2 in thread, plain, zinc plated, hot dip galvanized or powder coated.

Hang the half, close around the pipe
The hanger rod is screwed into the boss on the upper half. The pipe is laid in, the lower half is placed around it, and the two screws are tightened to close the clamp. The nut on the rod above sets the pipe to its level and fall.

Where it is used.
Heating and chilled water
Flow and return pipes along ceilings are hung on rubber-lined clamps at set spacings. The lining limits noise from pumps and valves.
Plumbing and drainage
Water and drainage pipes in basements and service risers hang on clamps and rod. The rod length sets the fall of a drain.
Sprinkler lines
Sprinkler branch lines and mains are hung from the structure at the spacing their design sets. Galvanized clamps suit wet systems.

Should pipe clamps be rubber lined?
A rubber lining cushions the pipe, cuts noise carried along the pipework from pumps and valves and protects copper and plastic pipe. Unlined clamps are used where the design calls for a direct steel grip. GV supplies both, for 1/2 to 30 in (12.7 to 762 mm) pipe, with EPDM linings.
